A rota of ten ladies endeavour to create attractive displays of flowers for the church each week with more ambitious arrangements for personal donations for special anniversaries and for weddings.
There is a great deal of planning, time and love given to decoration the church appropriately for Easter, Harvest and Christmas by all the ladies working together.

It is a joy to use some of God’s beautiful creation in His church, to His glory and to give pleasure to His people.

This shop, that shop – pink? – blue? – will these lilies open?

Reach for the greenery, remember the textures – will it last? – will it drop?
Ditch the dead flowers, clean the urn, soak the oasis, scissors ready.
Triangle, half moon – enough flowers for this shape?
   – will they show up at the back of church?
Snip, bend and wriggle; one rose short; that one’s dead; need one taller
  – out of balance?
  – a hole on one side?
‘How lovely!’ we hear them murmur….

It was fine in the end; flowers are beautiful any which way.  
I t was worth it all to do a little service for you, Lord.
