Today our education started. In the morning were taken round East Jerusalem by a member of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolition. This is neither the time nor the place to go into details but it is true to say we were all affected by the commentary we heard and the sights we saw. Passing demolished houses and standing next to the wall had a profound impact on us all; an impact none of us expected.
In the afternoon we began our transfer to Bethlehem.
First we visited the Musalaha HQ in Jerusalem. Musalaha is an organisation that strives for reconciliation between Jews and Arabs. Here we had a talk on the Theology of the Land and had the opportunity to hear the testimony of a Messianic Jew.
Unknown to us, our leaving from the Musalaha offices was being delayed. News was coming in of a demonstration outside Bethlehem Bible College (our next stop). The demonstration wasn’t aimed at the college it was in protest to the death of a Palestinian in Israeli custody.
