We arrived safely a Bethlehem Bible College last night, along a road strewn with the stones thrown in the earlier protest.
The College was to be the base for our stay in Bethlehem. The guest quarters are excellent. There are about ten bedrooms (all en-suite) clustered around a central lounge with a kitchen off to the side. We spent most evenings in the lounge discussing the day’s events. There were even quizzes and games.
We took a short work in to town this morning, just to have a look around and discovered the local Christian Bookshop.
We had a talk on the ‘Christian Response to Radical Islam’.
In the afternoon we visited Beit Al Liqa, a local nursery, playground and youth facility. It is a Christian centre that is open to all faiths and is a sensational beacon of light in an otherwise dark place. They run daily nursery classes and special camps for older kids during the summer.
This trip had may highlights but two stand out and this is the fist of them. To say that the building and the work that goes on at Beit Al Liqa stunned us is an understatement. We felt privileged to be able do some general tidying up for the cause.
This evening was the second of the two special highlights. We met with some of the students and staff of the college and with some local Christians. We were able swap stories, pray and worship together.
Today was a day of tremendous encouragement for us and I am sure for everyone we met
