The Bells of St. Peter's Church

John Betjeman wrote:
“I can make no apology for writing so much about church bells, they ring through our literature as they do our meadows and roofs.  Some may hate them for their melancholy, but they dislike them chiefly, I think, because they are reminders of eternity.  In an age of faith they were messengers of consolation.”

Could I be a ringer?

YES!

Ringing is within the capability of most people. If you can count from one to eight you know all the mathematics you need. Without ever knowing anything else about music, you can become a very good ringer.

Ringers are drawn for all ages and walks of life.  Many families ring together and have done for generations

St Peters Bells are rung regularly each Sunday before the Evening Service, and on Tuesdays 7:00-8:00 pm for practice, and may also be requested for weddings.
So why not come to a practice session and have a go!
