In order to measure and monitor our growth over the next five years, we have set a specific aim for our parish |

We believe that God is calling us to work for the doubling of our church over the next 5 years.
Putting this into perspective, if everybody in the church brought one other person to Christ in the next 5 years we would easily achieve our goal!!

It’s not simply about numbers attending our churches on a Sunday, but about maturing disciples. This is vital when thinking about the 60% of those in our parish who don’t relate to church as we know it!

It’s not simply about doing more of what we currently do, but also doing church differently! Our aim is to reach those who we are currently missing eg young people, 20s & 30s etc.

It’s also about working as a parish rather than simply as four separate churches. We want to see St Peter’s, Smithills Fellowship, Barrow Bridge & St Andrew’s all working together, while retaining their own distinctive life and ministry.

Obviously things are at an early stage, however it all begins with our willingness to go deeper with God in prayer, both together and individually. We cannot do any of this in our own strength and are dependant on his leading, power and growth.

Finally, let’s be expectant that God will grow our church, as he has promised. We can be confident that his gospel is good news for everybody; meeting real needs, as well as expressing God’s best for us, whoever we are! It is a gospel which can change lives and transform our society. He will not disappoint us!!
