What: Reflective and inspiring Bible study (with refreshments first)

When: Wednesday evenings 8.00 p.m - 9.30 p.m.

Where: Harpers Lane

Description:  These six studies, with a meditative approach, are an invitation to walk alongside characters like Adam and Eve, Abraham, David, Elijah and the Prodigal Son to see how they experienced the transforming love of the Father.


What: Boardgames

When: Thursday nights, 7:30pm - 9:30pm (ish) 

Where: Astley Bridge

Description: Coffee, chat and lots and lots of boardgames. We have a pile but bring along your favourite and we'll play different ones each week. Competitive streaks encouraged...!


What: HTB Prayer Course

When: Monday evenings (not meeting during half term 19th Feb)

Where:Parish Centre.

Description: This is the HTB Prayer Course, it is for anyone, based on the Lord’s Prayer, including a 20 min video plus discussion.

What: Film discussion group

When: Tuesday 7:30-9:30

Where: Vernon Street

Description: Watch the film together and discuss key themes.  Each week takes a different theme to do with identity and explores it with a couple of clips from the film. 

What: Mission and justice Bible studies

When: Thursdays

Where: Smithills

Description: A DVD based interactive discussion and Bible study series from Tearfund looking at issues around mission and justice. 

What: Hygge Connect for 18-30 year olds

When: Mondays 7:30-9:30pm

Where: Oli’s house

Description:  Hygge is a Danish concept about cosy-ness, wellness, enjoying the simple things.  These will be informal evenings to share food and good conversation, do some informal Bible study and enjoy one another’s company. 

What: Parenting course

When: Wednesdays 8-9.30pm

Where: Markland Hill Lane 

Description: We'll use resources to learn together how we can improve our parenting skills, but will also aim to understand and support one another in the joys and challenges of raising the next generation. The plan is to tailor the sessions to suit the people in the group, depending on the age of our children and particular challenges we share.

What: Bible study and discussion group

When: Monday 7.30pm – 9pm

Where: Sharples
Description: This study is for people who want to go deeper into who Jesus is and what the Bible has to say.  It’s for people in various places in their spiritual journey – it’s a safe place to come with honest questions.  Only a few places are still available.

Who: Mark & Katie Leaver 
What: We'll be using the book ‘God’s Big Picture’ by Vaughan Roberts. 
Description: For those who feel they might know the Gospels pretty well but perhaps the Old Testament less so.  We’ll be looking at God pointing forward to Christ thorough biblical history.  Ask us what Hosea prophesied and the relevance to our understanding of Christ and his plan.... we wouldn't be able to answer!  It’s not a hardcore trawl through of the Bible but a great way to learn more about God’s plan for us all. 

What: Film discussion group

When: Wednesday 8pm – not weekly: 28th Feb 7th March and 21st March

Where: Halliwell Road

Description: The Shack is a recent film adaption of the novel by Wm Paul Young – a story of how a grieving father meets God in a shack in the woods.  Watch the film together and talk about the themes and questions that it raises.

What: Opportunity to explore Christian basics
When: Thursday 8-9:15pm, beginning 1st March

Description:  6 weeks of fast-moving, interactive sessions that will give you an opportunity to discover what the Christian faith is all about.  Got questions?  Looking for answers?  Why not try Start?
