Welcome to St. Peter's

Church Without Walls

As of today, Monday 19th July, our church buildings are no longer subject to mandatory limitations and restrictions. We do, however, recognise that whilst many people are looking forward to being able to sing in church again as part of worship and sit on comfy seats (the red chairs have been re-instated in St. Peter's Church!),  there are many people who are anxious about what the end of restrictions look like, especially those affected by the impact of COVID-19. As we finalise what our arrangements in our church buildings will be, we encourage everyone to look out for each other, particularly those who are vulnerable or self-isolating, and to seek support where necessary.

Please contact us if you need help, prayer or just someone to chat with.

If you have any prayer needs then please email: pray@stpetersparish.info where a small group of people commit to pray for you in complete confidence.

You may also contact us by email office@stpetersparish.info or by telephone 01204 599900.

Repair and Build for the Future

In 2020, St. Peter's Church had it's 180th birthday. Those of us worshipping here today are benefiting from the stewardship and care of previous generations. We want to make sure that St. Peter's is ready to provide a gospel platform for the next 180 years and for future generations of worshippers. However, we a have a number of repairs to carry out.

Phase I of our repairs is to replace the decaying corridors with a new, welcoming and spacious entrance. We have already raised over half the cost ourselves and we are thrilled to report that the hoped for £100,000 grant from Viridor Credits, and further funds have now come in, meaning we have reached our target of £320,000. Thanks to everyone!

As with all building projects, there is a need for us to have a contingency fund, and there will be further on-costs to cover in church so if you haven’t given already and wish to do so, your donation will still be very gratefully received.

We are expecting the contractors, Bullen Conservation, to be on site to start the work from 16 August 2021, with an expected completion date of 19 November 2021.
