Pastoral care

Caring and showing love to one another and to our wider community is at the heart of what we do.

Our pastoral ministry is led by our Vicar, Revd. Canon Paul Hardingham, and there are pastoral teams in each of our four churches. At most of our Sunday services there are opportunities to pray with someone if you have a particular need.

We are able to practically respond to people’s needs through our Acts 435 team (see Acts 435 is an online giving charity, directly connecting those who want to give with those who are in genuine need of their help, through a network of local churches and charities. The name comes from the book of Acts in the Bible:

"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need." (Acts chapter 4 verses 32-35 NIV)

We are also an agent for Storehouse – a foodbank in Bolton, which is part of Urban Outreach.

Finally we can point people in the direction of trained counsellors if people need professional counselling.
